The North Atlantic orca is the world’s apex marine predator. No other creature in the animal kingdom can threaten it or escape its attack. As the eastern Canadian icepack melts further away each summer, the orca gains access to the traditional feeding and mating grounds of the narwhal, which are defenseless against it.
